This motif, with its anecdotal subject matter, first appeared in 1950 and was revisited up until 2003.
It notably featured in two stoneware vases produced by the Sèvres Manufactory in 1960.
With its exposed framework, the figure takes on a raw quality and fully incorporates real space as a structural element.
