Saint Sébastien (Saint Sebastian)

The emaciated body of the martyr, stripped of its traditional attributes, retains the grandeur of a tragic sentiment that echoes the miserabilist movement emerging at the same time.

Created before the widespread dissemination of images from the concentration camps, this figure was later reused for the War Memorial of Chérimont (1946).
