This work by Marc Leschelier situates itself in a general creation project centered on the exploration of relations between architecture and cinema, during his residency at the Villa Medicis. He renews the 16th-century Italian idea that architecture was the synthesis of all other art forms. Here he joins architecture and the seventh art by building a movie theater whose structure itself would act as a camera obscura (black room). The novel structure of this theater removed from the world in a desert landscape allows for a diffused light source.

A French architect and sculptor, Marc Leschelier envisions construction as successive layers of matter. His approach consists of reducing architecture to a skeleton state in order to visualize its components, to obtain a form of pre-architecture.
