Stainless steals, magnets
Listen

With Owan, Kuma skillfully blends tradition and modernity by laser-cutting a stainless steel structure with a shape reminiscent of the traditional bowl, a surface similar to fish scales and the transparency of traditional Japanese houses. This metallic canvas can be interpreted as a space of game or exploration, but also as a sanctuary for resting. The freedom of this cabane’s architecture illustrates Kengo Kuma’s will to imitate human life, diversity and movement. This “architectural folly” is baked in poetry due to its aerial shape and light materials.
