Odile Decz' Pavillon Noir imitates the shape of traditional castle pavilions, small structures with a secondary use, isolated on an open space, with a pointed roof. The pavilion becomes an architectural object that reflects the landscape, integrates it and allows us to explore it in a different fashion. In a single construction, the duality of the gaze is crafted : the passer-by can see on the different sides the reflections of the surrounding landscape, and by walking inside can become an unseen and discreet observer.

Odile Decq is a French architect and urban planner, awarded in 1996 with the Lion d’Or of the Venice Architectural Biennale. Her work materializes a complete universe incorporating urbanism, architecture, design and art.
